چکیده

Aims/Objectives This man 10 years ago underwent surgery for acute aortic dissection type Stanford A. During this surgery the ascending aorta including the aortic valve had been replaced. The regular follow-up by echocardiography was performed once a year. After 10 years without any problem, the patient began to suffer from atypical problems repeated respiratory infections and superior vena cava syndrome. The CTA shown huge pseudoanerysm of the ascending aorta which was oppressing superior vena cava, both main bronchi and esophagus. This finding was the indication for redo surgery. During redo surgery the total suture line dehiscence of distal anastomosis between vascular prosthesis and native aortic arch was found. The blood stream leaking through this dehiscence formed pseudoanerysm sac. The aortic root with mechanical prosthesis was found intact. The supracoronary ascending aorta replacement was performed. Four days after surgery the cardiac tamponade was diagnosed. On operating two small leaks between native aortic arch and vascular graft was directly sutured. Further progress was uneventful.

Huge dissected ascending aorta associated with pseudo aneurysm and aortic coarctation feridoun.

We report a unique case of chronic dissection of the ascending aorta complicated with huge and thrombotic pseudoaneurysm in a patient with coarctation of descending aorta. Preoperative investigations such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) confirmed the diagnosis of dissection. Intraoperative findings included a12 cm eccentric bulge of the right lateral side of dilated the ascending aort...

Diagnostic dilemma: Saccular aneurysm or pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta with dissection above level of leaflets

BACKGROUND In true aneurysm, the wall of aneurysm is composed of the normal histological components of aorta. A false aneurysm (pseudoaneurysm) represents a rupture which does not contain the normal histological components of aorta. It is a fibrous peel that has formed from a small perforation of aorta. We describe an unusual presentation that has signs which some of them are only manifested in...

Pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta.

A 69-year old man underwent ascending aorta grafting and aortic valve replacement for an acute aortic dissection. Nine months later, he suffered from painful ecchymosis and swelling of the sternal wound (Fig. 1). Computed tomography revealed a huge pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta (Fig. 2). Reoperation was successfully performed to repair the anasto-motic suture line tears. Figure 1: Promi...

Repair of ascending aorta pseudoaneurysm without circulatory arrest in redo patient

A pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta is an unusual and potentially fatal complication after aortic surgical operations. TEE and CT scan are the investigations of choice. Surgical treatment is mandatory. We describe the successful management of a pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta, with aorto-sternal-cutaneous fistula requiring right axillary and femoral artery cannulation with Remote Acce...

[Mycotic pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta caused by Candida albicans].

Aortic infection, or aortitis, is a rare entity that can lead to aneurysm or mycotic pseudoaneurysm formation. It affects patients with aortic arteriosclerosis or simultaneous infective endocarditis, and is rare in patientswithout these predispositions. Moreover, while aortic wall infection can lead to aneurysmatic dilatation, it is much more common for a previously dilated vessel to become inf...
